I think it was the wise choice given that we have quite a lot of clothes to hang. And it was just the cm missing compared to Pax to fit furniture in one of my rooms… I hesitated a lot to take the 40 cm depth frames, but finally didn't go for it, because with this depth, the suspension bars are not layed in front of you but perpendicular, going towards you (with a telescopic system), way less practical. Platsa gains 8 cm with it's 55 cm depth frames and thiner doors. Pax sizes are 60 cm depth, plus 5 cm if you add doors, which is too massive, or 35 cm which is way too thin (no possibility of really hanging clothes). Then I found Platsa, and went for it for many reasons.įirst, my rooms are quite small. I had a look to the Pax system, but wasn't convinced. There is a very well done online planner that lets you play with everything. So example: you can take a 60 * 180 frame, put some drawers on the bottom that will have their own door, and on what's left, put another door, that hides a couple of baskets and shelves. Doors, either normal, either sliding (sliding is only available for 120cm * 180 cm, so for two 60 * 180 frames put together). On these frames, you can mount diverse elements (all can be removed): Frames can be put on top of each other or side by side, have legs, and fixed together. You can buy any combination of these depth, height and width. The frames have a hole scheme that can adapt to many accessories: doors, shelves, etc, without anything definitive (no need to make new holes).įor that, the system is based on standard frames, with two possible depths: 40 cm and 55 cm, two possible width: 60 cm (single door on it) or 80 cm (twin door on a single frame), and a range of height (40cm, 60cm, 120cm, 180cm). You can make a standard rectangle wardrobe, have shelves on top of your bed, create drawers under you stairs, make a U shape thing, etc. Huge flexibility and modularity, axed at taking vantage of any space in small apartments.Easy dismounting too, and no definitive setup for a frame (no hole that can not be undone): you should be able to take a frame that was used for a wall shelve, dismount it back to planks, move it to another apartment, and mount it again to make a small drawer on legs, without hurting it.Easy mounting, without any screw or even any tool for the main frames (yes, you can do it with your bare hands), with a wedge dowel system. There are many ideas together behind Platsa. Mostly for clothes and bedrooms, but you can use it also for storing anything, or having a mixed furniture with shelves for books + drawers for clothes, etc. Platsa is a modular system that lets you build wardrobes (main usage), drawers and shelves. What is Platsa and what does it want to achieve? Only drawback: less classy than Pax and less choice for doors, but looks totally fine (Platsa doesn't look cheap). Tl dr: that was a wise choice, this system rocks, no need to go for Pax anymore, it's the wardrobe everybody needs. It doesn't seem yet available in all countries, but it was in France.
